Additional schooling from Jyväskülä University for teachers! 17. November 2009 Estonian Children's Fund organizes an additional schooling for 1 to 6 grade teachers which goal is to offer teachers the knowledge and practical skills in helping them effectively teach in a situation where there are ADHD children in the classroom. The schooling takes place in the frame of project "Support structures for hyperactive school children".
Run and support! Rat Race 2009 29. May 2009 On the 1st of June, Child Protection Day, once again office rats run in Tallinn and in Tartu, on the 5th of June the same race happens in Rakvere. Rat Race is a charity event which goal is to support the studies of students from children's homes via Estonian Children's Fund.
We give 85 500.- crowns to students 20. April 2009 Already for the 20th year we give educational stipendies to those students in universities who come from orphan's homes. The amount of the stipendies is 4500.- crowns pre student this year, also every stipendee will receive a present-card of Apollo Book Shop.

Two bigger concerts take place in Peace's church and the smaller concert in Redeemer's church which has a beautiful acoustics. Marju Kattel, a student of pre-school teacher-counceller in Tallinn University is waiting for Your help. Kattel writes her masters theme on "The intelligence of hyperactive children" and wishes to carry through a research. Fifteen children aged 4 to 7 years with ADHD diagnosis are expected in this research. Researcher tests the children with Wechler intelligence scale for pre- and primary school.
The participants of Rat Race 2008 collected 206 000 crowns for charity 13. June 2008 There were 555 office-rats participating in charity-run Rat Race and about 206 000 crowns was collected to help children from orphan's homes and special needs. Rat Race took part in foour cities in Estonia.
Sirje Grossmann - Loot on a FICE congress in Helsinki 9. June 2008 This week the executive director of Estonian Children's Fund, Sirje Grossmann - Loot will be in Helsinki, Finland, where a FI`CE congress "Better future for children today" will take place.

Nipsutera found the orphans 14. December 2007 Hilli Rand, a writer for children, has published a new colourful children's book in the end of 2007 called "Nimeks Nipsutera" that is aimed to children aged 4 to 8 years. Illustrators are Mari-Leen Üksküla and Kalju Kivi. Thanks to the kind givers the children from Estonias' orphans' homes, support centres and reformatories got this book for Christmas. All the givers have written their dedications to the little readers, among others several wellknown people and organisations. Big sponsors were SIA Caparol Baltica Estonian branch, Estonian Apostle Orthodoxy Church and Universaal Universum.
Buy charity POSTCARDS! 21. November 2007 Estonian Children's Fund's competition "Anyone could become anyone" came 398 pieces. The jury selected four works as papper-postcards that are very suitable for your organizations' Christmas invitations and for sending good wishes. Altogether there are about 46 000 children going to school in Tallinn, that is about a thousand pupils less than in 2006. Tallinn students are about 30% of Estonian students.
JCI organized the best charity event through the years! 19. June 2007 For the 6th time a youth organization JCI Tallinn organized the traditional office-rat race (Rat Race), this year it was better than ever before, concerning the number of participants and collected money for charity.
Tuuli Elstrok got a master's degree in social work, specializing in ADHD. 19. June 2007 Tuuli Elstrok, a project manager from Estonian Children's Fund, vindicated on the 28th of May 2007 her master's thesis "Elementary school students with the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD): parents’ coping methods at home in the context of Estonian Children’s Funds’ support groups." Her work was appreciated as "A" (excellent"). In 2003 Elstrok got a bachelor's degree in social work, in Tallinn University, this year master's degree accrued.
Pathfinders ended their season 19. June 2007 ECF's project Pathfinders ended its activities for this year. Pathfinders met at Sikupilli High School from September 2006 until May 2007. At first we met twice a month but since January we met every week.
A book "Minu armas Hüpi" by Maret Lina has occured 22. May 2007 The book "Minu armas Hüpi" was made as a result of Maret Lina's master study "The academic and social coping of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder" in University of Tallinn. This book is motivated on the negative attitude of teachers towards hyperactive child.
Zhanna is having a difficult operation tomorrow! 22. May 2007 Zhanna Kaldormina (20) has grown up in Tallinn Children's Home, her mother gave her away right after the birth of the child. When Zhanna was a little girl, one of her eye was where the cheek should have been, her nose was also different. By now Zhanna has been made tens of operations - transplanted skin and bones etc., but still she is different from other girls at her age.
Pathfinders in CD-presentation 22. May 2007 On the 16th of May 2007 youngsters from Estonian Children's Funds project "Pathfinders" took part in CD-presentation ("Marilin invites the men to sing along") of 11-years old Marilin.
The CD is meant for whole family. Besides Marilin there are Jaagup Kreem, Ivo Linna, Andres Dvinjaninov, Toomas Kõrvits, Indrek Kalda etc. singing in this CD.

"Pathfinders" is ECF's project since 1998 and throughout the whole year (September - May) the activities are being held in one specific school, this year Sikupilli High School. Volunteers and school-children meet once a week and discuss (through games, discussions etc:) about different subjects: friendship, love, drugs, violence, relations with teachers, team work and so on, also interesting organizations are being visisted: The Museum of Theatre and Music, The Prison of Tallinn, AIDS Prevention Center. Instructors are Marit Lepik, Eva Edovald, Keimo Kägu, Helena Vänt and project leader Tuuli Elstrok.
The elections of Miss University donated money to Estonian Children's Fund 24. April 2007 In the frame of Tallinn Student Days Miss University was elected on the 18th of Aprill 2007 at nightclub Hollywood. Miss University is Anna Dõtõna from the Academy of Music and Theatre. The gathered money was donated to Estonian Children's Fund.
Let's help Zhanna to become beautiful! 24. April 2007 Zhanna Kaldormina (born in 1986) has lived in Tallinn orphan's home for all her life - her mother gave her away right after her birth. As a very little girl one of her eyes was where cheek is supposed to be and her nose was also different - like from some cubistic painting of Picasso. For years now doctors have tried to make her look like other girls. There have been many operations - transplanted skin and bones, put the location of her eyes in order... but still she is remarkably different from other girls in her age. Operations were done according to her growing. Now Zhanna is an adult and her appearance can finally be changed more beautiful.
Brochure is compiled by fund's executive director Sirje Grossmann - Loot, who has for some time now carried through seminar-schoolings for divorcers in Tallinn.
Participate in a survey - ADHD children and time management! 25. January 2007 Do you have a child/adolescent with ADHD or do you teach a child/adolescent with ADHD? Children with ADHD experience difficulties completing school work to a deadline or organizing themselves for school or other events. Time is the invisible disability for these individuals. The University of Western Australia’s Centre for Child & Adolescent Related Disorders is developing time management strategies to help children/adolescents with AD/HD function more effectively in school and at home.
Contest for educational stipendies for children from children's homes has started! 17. October 2006 Estonian Children's Fund is again proud to present the contest for educational stipendies which are meant for those youngsters who are from children's homes and study at university. We have given the stipendies since 1989. Before we had the opportunity to support also those who were studying in high schools and trade schools, but now, due to decreasing financial resources, we can support only those who are studying in universities.

Support groups start again 13. September 2006 In September 2006 the support groups for parents and teachers with hyperactive kids start again in schools and kindergardens.
