Estonian Children's Fund is a laureate of UNICEF's Bluebird award

On the 14th of November 2008 UNO's Children's Fund UNICEF shared its yearly rewards, already for the eighth time. Among others Esonian Children's Fund celebrating its 20th birthday, also received this award.
Giving Bluebirds UNICEF accepts these people, unions or companies who distinguish with favour or acitivity on behalf of Estonian children in 2008.
In Toompea castle White hall Ene Ergma, the chairman of Estonian Parliament and Elle Kull, the president of UNICEF Estonian National Commitee gave over the yearly awards.
Bluebird is not monetary award but first of all acknowledgement for what is done for the children. It is UNICEF's gratitude to those people or companies whose activity deserves appreciation, who are a good example for the children or have in other ways helped to improve the children's situation in Estonia.
Sirje Grossmann - Loot, the executive director of Estonian Children's Fund, says: "We are very happy to receive this award. At the same time I must add that Bluebird is for those organizations, whose main activity is npt the protection of children, but who besides their main activities think of children and do something for them. Therefore Bluebird given to us is above all an appreciation for 20 years continuous and necessary work."
Other laureates are Tartu Laste Tugikeskus, ETV2, Lasteveeb OÜ, Eesti Metsatööstuse Liit, Julgestuspolitsei liiklusjärelevalve talitus, Maanteeamet, Heiki Valner, Anu Tali, Tiina Koidu, Arvo Valton Vallikivi and Mati Kaal.
