  In my opinion the Estonian teachers' knowledge about ADHD (hyperctivity) is
  good, they know enough and know how to deal with these kids
with blanks, here and there they might need additional training

Pathfinders ended their season

19. June 2007
ECF's project Pathfinders ended its activities for this year. Pathfinders met at Sikupilli High School from September 2006 until May 2007. At first we met twice a month but since January we met every week.

Project is aimed to youngsters from 5th to 9th grade, togehter we discussed about the following topics:
• September 27, 2006: introducing Pathfinders, its principles and instructors.
• October 11 2006: making a poster, setting the rules, filling the form and games.
• October 25, 2006: visiting AIDS Prevention Center, getting to know about different venereal diseases, safe sex etc.
• November 8, 2006: alcohol, drugs, tobacco, energy drinks - how they affect the human, discussions, games.
• November 22, 2006: love and its different forms - discussions, drawing love, games.
• December 6, 2006: visiting Estonian Rescue Board, getting to know about the work of firefighters and the machines etc.
• December 20, 2006: visiting an american family in Estonia, Harku and celebrating Christmas with them, songs, presents, games, grilling in the snow.
• January 10, 2007: values - discussion, games, word-alias, filling the test of values.
• January 24, 2007: moods - discussions, games. We made a decision to meet every week.
• January 31, 2007: skating in Harju street.
• February 7, 2007: solving conflicts, discussions, games.
• February 14, 2007: School and teachers - relations between them and other pupils, a Valentine's Day.
• February 21, 2007: visiting the Museum of Theatre and music.
• February 28, 2007: game and the beauty of playing games.
• March 7, 2007: visiting the Academy of Public Affairs, meeting the policeman's work and techiques.
• March 14, 2007: the similarities/differences between boys and girls, stereotypes, games.
• March 28, 2007: explaining the principles of Tallinn Prison, crime and punishment - discussions.
• April 4, 2007: visiting Tallinn Prison.
• April 11, 2007: playing bowling together with Miss University candidates.
• April 18, 2007: drawing the tree of education - where to go after elementary school, high school, the army, university etc.
• April 25, 2007: hobbies - what kind of hobbies do the Pathfinders have, their pros and prons.
• May 2, 2007: an orienting game Finding the Path.
• May 9, 2007: aggressiveness
• May 16, 2007: being at the CD-presentation of an 11-year old Marilin.
• May 23, 2007: meeting the professional hand-ball player Risto Lepp.
• May 30, 2007: ending the project, Tallinn Old Days.

13.-14 June we had a camping trip to Järvamaa, in the middle of Estonia, where ECF has an educational farm in Päinurme.

The instructors were: Marit Lepik, Maria Hõbesalu (until February 2007), Keimo Kägu, Helena Vänt and Eva Edovald. Instructor from ECF was Tuuli Elstrok.

We wish to thank all the Pathfinders, their instructors, Sikupilli High School and other supporters!!!
